application of hydrotropic solubilization in spectrophotometric analysis of esomeprazole and itopride pharmaceutical combined tablet dosage forms
Authors
abstract
two simple, accurate and precise methods for simultaneous estimation of esomeprazole and itopride in bulk drug and tablet dosage form have been described. method-a employs formation and solving of simultaneous equation using 231 and 370 nm as two analytical wavelengths. method -b is absorption ratio method, which uses 308 and 331 nm as two analytical wavelengths.beer’s law was obeyed in the concentration range 5-35 μg/ml for esomeprazole and 5-40 μg ml-1 for itopride. in the present investigation, 0.5 metformin hydrochloride solutions (hydrotropic solubilizing agent) were employed to solubilize, esomeprazole and itopride from fine powder of its tablets to carryout spectrophotometric analysis. the optimized methods showed good reproducibility and recovery with standard deviation of < 1.0% and percent relative standard deviation less then 2.0%, allow the simultaneous estimation of esomeprazole and itopride in concentration ranges employed for this purpose in the assay of bulk drug and tablets.

A simple, accurate and rapid high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC)-densitometric method was developed for separation and determination of cetirizine (CET) as a long acting antihistamine and montelukast (MON) as an antileukotriene in pharmaceutical dosage forms. The compounds were separated on silica gel 60 F254 HPTLC plates using a mixture of ethyl acetate : methanol : ammonia solu...
full textSpectrophotometric Analysis of Vardenafil in Tablet Dosage Forms by Using Electrophilic Coupling Reagents
Two new spectrophotometric methods (M1 and M2) are developed for the determination of vardenafil in bulk and in tablet dosage forms. The method M1 involves oxidative coupling of vardenafil with 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrazone hydrochloride in presence of ferric chloride in acidic medium yielding green colored chromogen with absorption maxima at 625 nm. The method M2 is based on the oxida...
full textSpectrophotometric Analysis of Dutasteride in Pure and Tablet Dosage Forms
Four simple and sensitive visible spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the assay of dutasteride. Method I describes the interaction of dutasteride, as an n-electron donor, with chloranil, as a pi-acceptor, in acetonitrile to give reddish orange colored chloranil radical anion with absorption maxima at 525 nm. Method II involves the oxidative coupling reaction of dutasteride with 3...
